Job Summary

The Dearborn Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily contractor/retail operations of the 8 Dearborn Rd location of Northeast Nursery, Inc.  This manager will help to develop and lead a customer-centric team to respond to customer needs.  Manager will provide a clear direction to all store employees to achieve store and company goals and initiatives. Additionally, the Store Manager implements and maintains the policies and procedures of Northeast Nursery, Inc. to ensure compliance with all state and local laws and regulations.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Provides daily effective leadership to 30+ employees to ensure productivity and profitability
  • Hires, terminates, conducts performance evaluations
  • Schedules, assigns and supervises duties and responsibilities to store staff that oversees peak hours and controls payroll expenses.
  • Trains new employees and provides continuous education and training to current employees so they are working at the highest levels of customer service as knowledgeable, courteous and sales minded employees.
  • Manage Store Inventory
  • Monitor facilities and operational systems
  • Answers inquiries about product availability, specifications and pricing for employees and customers
  • To set displays to promote current/seasonal items and provide proper upkeep.
  • Stock store in such a way that promotes cleanliness and safety at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the Nursery/Landscaping Industry preferred
  • Previous Store Management Experience Necessary- mid career preferred.
  • Must have high school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Must have proficiency with computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite, familiar with smart phones
  • Store Closing and opening procedures
  • Cash register transactions
