| Masonry cement is a blend of portland cement and finely ground limestone, combined with various process additions that enhance water retention, workability, board life and durability. They are manufactured to meet ASTM C91. These portland cement-based products are designed for making mortar as prescribed in ASTM C270 "Mortar for Unit Masonry." |
| Gray Portland Cement |
| Type I |
A general-purpose portland cement suitable for all uses where special properties of other types are not required; uses include pavements, sidewalks, reinforced concrete buildings, bridges, railway structures, tanks, reservoirs, culverts, water pipe and masonry units. |
Type II Sulfate Resistant |
Type II portland cement offers moderate heat of hydration and sulfate resistance, for applications where sulfates in ground waters and/or soils are higher than normal, or in mass concrete work where heat of hydration is a concern. |
TYPE III High Early Strength |
Type III portland cement provides high early strengths during concrete curing, allowing forms to be stripped earlier or the structure to be put into service quickly. |
| Gray Masonry Cement |
| Type N |
For normal masonry construction. |
| Type S |
For use in masonry structures that require more strength than a Type N. |
