Plants: Soil Moist

When installing plants in dry areas or container plantings that are not watered often, it is recommended to use Soil Moist. Soil Moist has been developed to reduce the amount of water needed to maintain vigorous plants and other green goods. When mixed in the soil, the crystals will soften and swell as water is added and absorbed. When the potting system dries, the polymer will release its water to the plant. Soil Moist acts as a water reservoir--even during periods of drought the stored water is released to the plant. The expansion and retraction of the polymer during the watering cycle helps soil aeration, which is important to all plants.

Soil Moist is a synthetic acrylic copolymer. The polymer is non-toxic and safe to use in all landscape applications. When added to landscape and planting applications, Soil Moist will continue to work for an extended period of time. Northeast Nursery has different types of Soil Moist to meet your gardens needs.

Soil Moist stores over 200 times its weight in tap water, releasing a steady supply of water as your plants need it. Soil Moist offers the following benefits:

Soil Moist with Mycorrhizal
Mycorrhiza is the relationship between the plant root and beneficial fungi. The roots of most plants are colonized by the fungus. This colonization extends far into the soil and are extensions of the root system. Mycorrhizal fungi is found in undisturbed soils with other beneficial soil organisms. Today's common practices such as tillage, site preparation, road and home construction, mining and removal of topsoil can degrade the mycorrhizal forming potential of soil. The fungi improve the ability of plants to utilize the soil resources by ten to hundreds of times.

Soil Moist Transplant
Formulated to inoculate transplanted trees, shrubs and plants during planting time. The formulation contains a diverse blend of 5 species of healthy viable ectomycorrhizal propagules and 7 species of endomycorrhizal propagules that are adapted to a wide range of plants. Soil Moist water storing polymers are included in the formulation to reduce transplant stress and water maintenance.

Soil Moist Flower Bed
Formulated to inoculate planting areas such as flower beds, trees, shrubs and containers prior to planting. The formulation is for endo specific plants only and contains a diverse blend of 7 species of healthy viable endomycorrhizal propagules that are adapted to a wide range of plants and conditions. Soil Moist water storing polymers are included in the blend.

Soil Moist Flower and Garden Plus
Contains beneficial endomycorrhizal fungi from seven species that are adapted to a wide range of plants and habitat conditions. An 8-9 month timed release fertilizer and Soil Moist water storing polymer is included in the mix.

Soil Moist Organic Blend
Designed to increase the beneficial bacteria of the soil. It is formulated from six species of a beneficial microbial blend. The establishment of beneficial bacteria is important for soil structure, fertility and plant growth.

Soil Moist Container Mix Plus
Contains beneficial endomycorrhizal fungi from seven species that are adapted to a wide range of plants and habitat conditions. An 8-9 month timed release fertilizer and Soil Moist water storing polymer is included in the mix.
