THRIVE
What you put in your compost is the most important factor to help you get fertilizer in a month or two vs. a season or even a year. You want happy micro-organisms in your compost that hungrily transform your scraps into garden goodies. To keep those microbes munching, maintain the correct ratio of "green" to "brown" ingredients. Aim for a 50/50 mix. Green materials are rich in nitrogen; brown materials are rich in carbon. Microbes thrive in the paticular ratio of carbon to nitrogen created by the balance of green and brown materials, allowing for efficient composting. Available in 40 oz. and 128 oz. bottles When Can I Compost? You can start composting at any time of the year. Autumn is a popular time as many gardeners begin the tidy up in anticipation of the winter months. Spring is also a good time, as it ties in nicely with the start of the gardening season. Remember, microbes work harder in the warmer weather, so you will see the contents breaking down more rapidly in the warmer months. Mycorrhizal fungi with Howard Garrett
