The following are the types of plants to inspect, the pest is what kind of pest you will see in your landscape, and the action is what to do when inspecting your landscape. Back to helpful hints.

Install yellow sticky traps. Examine traps or leaves for small black adult sawflies.

Inspect leaves for last year’s damage. Install yellow sticky traps. Examine traps or leaves for small gray-black flies.

Pear Thrips Inspect traps periodically for tiny yellow-brown thrips.

Look for clusters of small, dark green larvae on newest needles. See Early March to April.

Inspect for brown larvae in damaged buds and tips. Treat with registered insecticide if needed.
